Avsallar, Turkey. The streets there are full of the woeful stray and feral populations of cats and dogs. But the streets there also have hope. Manuela walks for miles and miles each day to bring food, love and care to the animals of Avsallar. And some are very lucky, they make it out.
Miracle, Smokey and 3 frightened and abused kittens have been offered a place at The Love of Pets Sanctuary in St. Mary’s, GA. They will arrive at the JFK airport on a direct flight from Istanbul. Smokey is healthy and a bit shy. Miracle was hit by a car as a kitten resulting in a broken hip. She is also healthy but unsteady. The three wee kittens are the saddest of this lot. They were rescued from a place where their very lives had been threatened, and had even been attacked more than once. They are shy and do not trust humans at all. I don’t think I blame them. But it is now time for something better for all five of these kitties.
